ABOUT THE SPECIES
Sycamore maple, also known as Acer pseudoplatanus, is a deciduous tree that is often found in hilly and mountainous areas of Europe. This species of maple can grow up to a height of 40 meters and typically has a dense, wide-ranging canopy.

Use
Sycamore maple is an important source of wood and is used for making furniture, building materials, and musical instruments. The wood of the sycamore maple has a distinctive light color with reddish tones and a high luster after polishing. It has a strong and dense structure that makes it ideal for various applications.

One of the most common applications of the wood of the sycamore maple is in furniture production. Thanks to its strength and durability, sycamore maple is often used to make beds, tables, chairs, cabinets, and other furniture pieces. In combination with other types of wood, sycamore maple can create beautiful contrasts of color and texture.

In addition to furniture manufacturing, the wood of the mountain maple is also used in construction for making floors, wall paneling, stairs, and other decorative elements. Due to its durability, the mountain maple is often used for making sports equipment such as tennis and badminton rackets, hockey sticks, and table tennis paddles.

Mountain maple is also used for making musical instruments, including violins, guitars, and pianos. Maple wood has a unique ability to improve the sound quality of instruments. It is also used for making sports and hunting bows due to its strength and durability.

It is also used in the construction industry for producing wooden structures, such as roof beams, poles, laths, and other building elements. Sweet chestnut is also used in carpentry for producing wooden elements such as doors, windows, frames, and other wooden components.

PREPARATION AND DRYING
After sawing, the maple is air-dried for about a month and then placed in a dryer for a period of about 30-60 days (depending on the thickness). In the dryer it is dried to a moisture content of 10%. It is recommended to store dry boards at a temperature of about 10-25 °C and a humidity of up to 58%.
