Use of timber
The wood of sweet chestnut is a highly valued material in the timber industry due to its strength, durability, and decorative appearance. PREPARATION AND DRYING
After being sawn, sweet chestnut is air-dried for about 1-2 months and then placed in a dryer for a period of about 30-60 days (depending on thickness). In the dryer, sweet chestnut is dried to a moisture content of 10%. It is recommended to store dry boards at a temperature of about 10-25 °C and a humidity of up to 58%.
